This portrait is as stunning as that world famous portrait "the Afghan woman" by Steve McCurry (cover of National Geographic Magazine 1985. Her portrait still haunts me, and so will probably this amazing portrait.

The color scheme is very interested, strangely warm that gives the sense of hope to this artists subject of survivor.

The eyes are the best feature in this portrait, next to that is the skin tone. Though this is a self-portrait and therefor not a "real" survivor portrait (unlike Steve McCurry's portrait that was "real life"), it doesn't mean that this portrait has any less impact. And also doesn't mean the theme isn't autobiographic, by the way.

Minor points of critique. Your technique is absolutely marvelous, I have no idea how to create a picture like this. But I have the impression the picture is somehow elongated and too small in width. I suspect the hair contributes more to this effect. It very well may be intentional, but I don't think I - personally - like it. If it's not edited in size/proportions, than please forgive my mistake.
